Richie Spice: “Earth A Run Red” and “It Nuh Pretty” have established Richie Spice as singing’s next big thing. The humble dread has the songwriting skill and silky voice necessary to capture our collective heart, but his stage presence is wooden and his output inconsistent.

Prediction: NOT YET. Spice has too much talent not to succeed at some level in the business.

Chuck Fender: Too much like Sizzla, and not enough insight or uniqueness to stand out. His heart is in the right place, but everything he says has been said better by someone else.

Prediction: FADE AWAY. Remember Louie Culture? OK, that’s Chuck Fender five years from now.

Spice: The Dancehall temptress has yet to prove that she can do more than counteract other artists’ tunes. A work in progress, impossible to predict.
